The company behind AuthZed has introduced Fine-Grained Access Management (FGAM) for its flagship product SpiceDB, which provides better security controls over client applications accessing the SpiceDB API. The new feature is a direct result of customer feedback and takes into account the principle of least privilege to limit access to minimum required APIs, enhancing security in the event of a breach. FGAM is available for customers using SpiceDB Dedicated and Self-Hosted with version 1.19.0 or newer, offering a more granular approach to managing API keys and providing policy-based enforcement, including support for runtime context and caveats that capture IAM concepts seamlessly.
