Claude Duet Can Watch Your Inbox. Should You Let It?
Blog post from Atlas Cloud
Claude Duet is Anthropic’s waitlisted research-preview agent for US Claude Pro and Max subscribers that proactively checks connected apps, provides briefs, prepares drafts and work products, and continues tasks through a cloud-based browser while users are away. Unlike standard chat, it can monitor email, calendars, documents, accounting, and other connected services, with Anthropic citing support for more than 6,000 connectors and plugins, although availability and capabilities vary by account and integration. Duet is designed to prepare rather than independently finalize consequential work: it requires approval before sending messages, making payments, signing documents, or deleting content, while some financial activities remain unavailable. Its background checks occur every few hours and share Claude plan usage limits, making monitoring scope, task complexity, latency, and usage capacity practical considerations. Anthropic acknowledges that Duet can miss urgent items or misjudge priorities, so it is best treated as a tool for triage, context gathering, and first drafts rather than a substitute for independent alerts or human decision-making.
