A Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) is a centralized team responsible for governing cloud operations and IT infrastructure, driving business outcomes, managing risk, and optimizing costs. It differs from FinOps, which focuses on financial accountability in the cloud's variable spend model, bringing about changes in infrastructure planning to rate optimization analysis. A CCoE provides benefits such as realizing the full potential of cloud resource management, reducing operational costs, improving security and reliability, agility, innovation, and competitiveness, while a CCoE is consultative to FinOps but serves as a complementary solution to augment each other's capabilities.
