The APIMatic VS Code extension is designed to help developers validate, lint, and auto-fix their API definition files, generating powerful SDKs and documentation with over 1200 pre-defined rules. It addresses shortcomings of existing tools by providing mandatory standard checks, enforcing compliance with API specification standards like OpenAPI, and offering out-of-the-box lint checks for code generation and general quality. The extension also supports auto-fixing common issues, richer validation experience, merge-aware validation, support for multiple API specification formats, ability to transform API specification format, and better support for APIMatic users. It is currently available in preview mode for APIMatic users and anticipates future changes including improved stability and additional features.
