Anyscale has raised $40 million in Series B funding to further grow the ecosystem around its open source project, Ray, and bring its first commercial offering, the Anyscale managed Ray platform, to market. The platform aims to simplify the development of distributed applications and put AI in the hands of every developer by providing a universal serverless compute API and an expanded ecosystem of libraries. With this funding, Anyscale plans to remove barriers to entry for building scalable distributed applications that have held organizations back from taking advantage of recent advancements in AI and machine learning. The company will also enhance Ray and bring its first commercial offering to market, redefining serverless computing by freeing users from managing servers and enabling seamless migration between laptops and the cloud.
