Antimatter, a finalist in the RSA Conference Innovation Sandbox, tackles data recovery challenges associated with strong encryption by employing Shamir's secret sharing (SSS) method, which distributes key shards among stakeholders using FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and Common Criteria EAL 6 certified smart cards. This innovative approach eliminates backdoors and single points of failure, ensuring that even if encryption keys are lost, data recovery is possible through a collaborative process involving physical smart cards.
