Sydney will become Anthropic’s fourth office in Asia-Pacific

Anthropic is expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific region by opening a new office in Sydney, marking its fourth office in the area alongside Tokyo, Bengaluru, and Seoul. This move aims to meet the growing demand for AI services in Australia and New Zealand and support the unique AI ecosystems of these countries. The company plans to hire a local team, engage with Australian institutions, and collaborate on projects that advance national interests. The expansion will help serve enterprise, startup, and research customers, with a focus on areas such as financial services, agricultural technology, clean energy, healthcare delivery, and scientific research. Anthropic already collaborates with innovative organizations like Canva, Quantium, and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and is considering increasing its compute capacity in Australia to align with the country's ambitions for sustainable AI infrastructure. The executive team will visit Australia to formalize partnerships and meet with stakeholders, while also exploring longer-term infrastructure opportunities in the region.
