Higher usage limits for Claude and a compute deal with SpaceX

A strategic partnership with SpaceX will significantly boost Claude's compute capacity, allowing for higher usage limits on its services such as Claude Code and the Claude API. This collaboration grants access to SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center, providing more than 300 megawatts of new capacity, and complements existing agreements with Amazon, Google, Broadcom, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. The company plans to utilize a range of AI hardware, including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs, and is exploring opportunities for orbital AI compute capacity with SpaceX. International expansion is also a focus, particularly for enterprise customers in regulated industries that require in-region infrastructure for compliance and data residency. This includes collaborations for additional capacity in Asia and Europe, with a commitment to invest in local communities and cover potential electricity price increases in the US caused by data centers.
