Expanding Project Glasswing

Project Glasswing is an initiative aimed at enhancing global software security by utilizing AI models to identify and address vulnerabilities in critical codebases. Initially launched with 50 partners, the project has now expanded to include approximately 150 new organizations across more than 15 countries, focusing on sectors such as power, water, healthcare, and communications. The initiative uses the Claude Mythos Preview model to scan for security flaws, and since its inception, partners have found over 10,000 high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities. By collaborating with industry players, open-source maintainers, and governments, Project Glasswing seeks to promote new cybersecurity norms and infrastructure to adapt to the evolving landscape of AI-driven cyber threats. This expansion aims to provide the software industry with better tools and infrastructure, helping cyberdefenders adapt to the rapidly changing threat landscape. Additionally, the project supports the development of new standards and practices for vulnerability disclosure and patching, with the ultimate goal of creating a permanent advantage for defenders in cybersecurity.
