Anthropic is introducing new Commercial Terms of Service that provide expanded copyright indemnity and improved protection for customers building with their services, including a more streamlined API that's easier to use. The updated terms will take effect on January 1, 2024 for Claude API customers and January 2, 2024 for those using Claude through Amazon Bedrock. Anthropic is also releasing a beta version of the Messages API, which aims to help developers catch errors early in development, particularly with respect to prompt construction, and will offer services like robust function calling soon. The company plans to broaden access to its Claude API in the coming weeks.
