Anthropic’s Long-Term Benefit Trust appoints Vas Narasimhan to Board of Directors

Vas Narasimhan, CEO of Novartis and an accomplished physician-scientist, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Anthropic by the Anthropic Long-Term Benefit Trust. This appointment underscores Anthropic's commitment to leveraging AI for the betterment of human life, particularly in healthcare and life sciences, fields where Narasimhan has made significant contributions by overseeing the development of over 35 novel medicines. As a Public Benefit Corporation, Anthropic's governance structure includes the Long-Term Benefit Trust, which ensures a balance between financial success and its mission to develop AI for humanity's long-term benefit. With Narasimhan's appointment, the Trust-appointed directors now form a majority on the board, joining members such as Dario and Daniela Amodei, Yasmin Razavi, Jay Kreps, Reed Hastings, and Chris Liddell.
