Anthropic has partnered with the Rwandan Government and African tech training provider ALX to introduce Chidi, an AI learning companion built on Claude, to hundreds of thousands of learners across Africa. This initiative integrates AI into Rwanda's national education system and ALX's technology training programs, aiming to equip university graduates and young professionals with skills in data analytics and cloud computing while assisting teachers in lesson planning. The partnership, which aligns with Rwanda's Vision 2050 strategy, includes AI training for teachers and civil servants to enhance educational and workforce productivity. Beyond Rwanda, ALX is deploying Chidi across Africa to foster problem-solving and independent learning among over 200,000 students. The collaboration underscores Anthropic's commitment to using AI for public good, reflecting similar educational initiatives in Iceland, the UK, and India, and reinforcing AI's role in shaping future learning environments globally.
