Blog post from Anthropic
Anthropic has announced an expanded partnership with Google and Broadcom to acquire multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity, which will be available starting in 2027, to support the growing demand for its AI models, particularly the Claude series. This move reflects Anthropic's commitment to scaling its infrastructure to meet the rapid increase in its customer base and revenue, which has surged to over $30 billion, with more than 1,000 business customers spending over $1 million annually. The majority of the new compute resources will be located in the United States, reinforcing Anthropic's previous $50 billion investment in American computing infrastructure. This collaboration enhances Anthropic's existing work with Google Cloud and Broadcom and supports the company's strategy of utilizing diverse AI hardware platforms, including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs, to optimize performance and resilience. Anthropic maintains its primary cloud partnership with Amazon and continues to work on Project Rainier, ensuring that Claude remains accessible on major cloud platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure Foundry.
