Anthropic acquires Stainless
Blog post from Anthropic
Anthropic has announced the acquisition of Stainless, a company that has been instrumental in developing Software Development Kits (SDKs) and Multi-Channel Protocol (MCP) server tooling, to enhance the capabilities of its AI agents. Stainless, founded in 2022, has played a crucial role in generating SDKs for Anthropic's API, which are used by hundreds of companies to facilitate API usage across various programming languages such as TypeScript, Python, and Java. The acquisition is seen as a strategic move to improve the connectivity of Anthropic's AI agent, Claude, with data and tools, thereby pushing the boundaries of developer experience and agent connectivity. Katelyn Lesse from Anthropic and Alex Rattray from Stainless both expressed enthusiasm about the merger, highlighting the potential to advance the platform where developers build innovative solutions. Anthropic's efforts also include collaborations with major partners like PwC and the Gates Foundation, as well as initiatives to introduce Claude for Small Business, aiming to broaden the application of their technology across different sectors.
