Important Update: Alpaca Launches Market Data API 2.0

The Alpaca Data API version 2 is being announced by Alpaca, offering real-time and historical price data with plans for future upgrades, replacing the existing Polygon.io data feed starting from February 27th, 2021. Two market data plans are introduced: a free plan suitable for low-active users and an unlimited plan available for $49 per month. To ensure a smooth transition, paper trading accounts will have default access to the free plan with an option to subscribe to the unlimited plan, while live accounts will need to create a new Polygon.io account using a provided discount coupon to retain access to the data feed.
