Alpaca has introduced its Broker API, a product that enables developers to connect their apps to the US stock market, streamlining the process of building end-to-end trading app experiences. The API is organized around REST and features various capabilities such as onboard and manage user accounts, leverage Alpaca's KYC/CIP APIs, journal cash or stocks between accounts, enable trading functionality, download trade confirmations, charge commissions, and more. With Broker API, users can fund accounts using customizable funding operations and pass KYC information to Alpaca for global compliance. The platform also supports fractional shares, rewards, and market data, allowing developers to build referral programs, sign-up rewards, and provide better user experiences. Alpaca has partnered with fintech companies Gotrade and Midas to develop and fine-tune its platform, and is now offering the Broker API for developers to start building their apps in a sandbox environment before going live.
