Goodbye JavaScript: Introducing our CSS API Client
Blog post from Algolia
In a tongue-in-cheek blog post, Algolia announced the launch of their CSS API Client. They argue that CSS is a powerful language and can be used to style websites in just a few years. The company believes that JavaScript is not mature enough for their needs and has decided to eliminate it altogether. They claim that their entire search engine can be exposed using only CSS, which works offline and offers unlimited operations. Algolia also removed features such as data replication, analytics, and support, but added support for flexbox. The company is now working on a new Machine Learning processing pipeline in CSS.
