Summary

In this three-part series on building a Store Locator, we covered how to create an elegant way for users to find their nearest store. We used React in combination with Algolia, Mapbox, and Twilio to build the Store Locator. The first part focused on setting up required accounts, scaffolding the React project, and indexing the dataset with stores in an Algolia index. In the second part, we added Geo search capabilities into the app using Algolia, React InstantSearch, and Mapbox to display results on a map connected to Algolia's InstantSearch. The third part covered adding autocomplete functionality to the Store Locator using Algolia Autocomplete, creating plugins for geocoding services, and integrating Twilio for sending SMS notifications. Finally, we deployed the Store Locator to Clever Cloud hosting platform.
