Benchmarking Apache Kafka Performance Part 1: Write Throughput

This article reviews the raw write throughput performance of Apache Kafka on various cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and UpCloud. The Chief Technology Officer at Aiven, Heikki Nousiainen, shares a benchmark test they conducted to estimate maximum write throughput rates for different Aiven Kafka plan tiers in these clouds. They found that the performance of Apache Kafka scales nicely with added resources and increased cluster size.
