Yusuf Ganiyu created a real-time multiplayer arcade game "Chicken Invaders Kafka," leveraging Kafka topics for various game functionalities, while Kuba Nowakowski developed a parcel delivery notification system using Kafka and Apache Flink. Both projects exemplified the innovative use of Kafka's capabilities. Additionally, other noteworthy projects included a maritime security system, a walkie-talkie app, a sports data platform, and a city planning tool using generative AI, underscoring Kafka's versatility across different domains. Aiven intends to continue fostering developer engagement through future competitions, including a focus on PostgreSQL and other free services, as part of their commitment to supporting the open-source community.
