A new chapter: Announcing our Series F funding
Blog post from Airwallex
Airwallex announced a Series F funding round that brings its total capital raised to $1.2 billion and its valuation to $6.2 billion, supporting expansion into new markets and development of its global banking platform. Founded in 2015 to reduce the cost, delays, and complexity of cross-border payments, the company built its own financial infrastructure, obtained more than 60 licenses worldwide, and established direct connections with networks including Visa and Mastercard. Airwallex says its platform enables payments across more than 150 countries, interbank foreign-exchange rates in over 60 currencies, reduced FX fees, and localized e-commerce checkout capabilities. Building on its payment infrastructure, it now offers integrated financial software for functions such as spend management, multicurrency accounts, APIs, vendor payments, approvals, currency conversion, and reconciliation. The company also plans to incorporate AI more deeply into its platform, with a long-term vision of increasingly autonomous financial operations, while continuing to develop tools intended to help businesses and entrepreneurs operate globally.
