Zoom Out and Look at the Big Picture When Evaluating Real-time Engagement Solutions

A recent study commissioned by Zoom compares the performance of its video SDK with those from Agora and three other real-time engagement PaaS providers. The results claim that Zoom maintains the highest frame rate on video calls compared to all vendors and has the most consistent video quality in all tested network conditions. However, there are some missing pieces in Zoom's test, such as mobile and web testing results, specifications not detailed, real-world testing between various geographic regions, and coverage of resource utilization for CPU and RAM on lower end devices vs. higher end devices. Agora plans to discuss these aspects further and work with a 3rd party lab in the future for external validation of broader scenarios.
