Aerospike Database 7.0 sets the foundation for big developer API additions in server 7.1 and beyond, overhauling in-memory namespaces in significant ways. The unified storage format consolidates all three storage engines to a single efficient flat format, resulting in faster restarts for in-memory namespaces, improved performance, and simplified capacity planning. Aerospike users can now configure an in-memory namespace to use storage compression, stability and performance improvements are achieved through the mirroring of in-memory data to its persistence layer, and multi-tenancy is made easier with new features such as set-level segregation of tenants on the same cluster. The release also adds new developer API features, including support for indexing and querying bytes data (BLOBs), and removes support for old OS versions, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and its variants.
