Summary

A tier-1 telecommunications (telco) company faced challenges due to massive growth in data traffic within their network, which could lead to data congestion and slowdown of mission critical applications. To address this issue, Aerospike introduced Intel® Optane™ PMem technology to handle the required scale while keeping costs low. The results showed that up to 2.3x higher transactions per second were achieved by moving from "Hybrid Memory" to a PMem configuration. Apart from significant improvement on performance, Intel® Optane™ PMem powered Aerospike's data platform brought benefits such as reduced server count, lower capital and operating expenses, and less downtime for the telco customer.
