Aerospike has successfully demonstrated its ability to deliver 1 million transactions per second (TPS) on a $5,000 server by tuning its database for optimal performance. To achieve this, Aerospike applied the "recipe" published last year, which involved optimizing hardware and software configurations, as well as configuring service threads and using multiple queues. The company used a custom-built test framework based on YCSB to generate 1M TPS, with balanced reads and writes reaching 1M TPS, and read-heavy workloads reaching 1.6M TPS. The results show a significant improvement over previous tests, with a 100% increase in performance when using the latest version of Aerospike.
