WarpStream Schema Linking is a tool designed to facilitate the continuous migration of Confluent-compatible schema registries into WarpStream's Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) Schema Registry, supporting a stateless and zero-disk architecture. It enables seamless schema migration while preserving schema IDs, subjects, and compatibility rules, ensuring the destination registry mirrors the source at the API level. WarpStream has introduced a new feature called Diagnostics for its clusters, designed to continuously analyze and identify potential issues, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in cluster health and cost management. Diagnostics simplifies cluster management by providing detailed explanations and suggestions for optimization, leveraging WarpStream's architecture, which separates data from metadata to streamline storage and consensus processes. The feature utilizes metadata scraping and in-cluster analyzers to collect relevant data and generate insights, which are presented in the WarpStream Console. Users can access over 20 diagnostic checks that identify issues like unnecessary cross-AZ networking, non-optimized instances, and inefficient request configurations, offering proactive solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs. The Diagnostics system supports muting of known issues and integrates with monitoring systems for alerts, aiming to make WarpStream clusters more manageable and cost-effective. Future updates promise additional diagnostic checks and features like email alerts, and WarpStream offers a free account with $400 in credits for users to explore these tools.
