Tembo offers a template for a cloud-based documentation agent that monitors code changes on a schedule or after events such as merged pull requests, identifies user-facing updates, edits relevant documentation, and opens a reviewable pull request rather than merging changes itself. The approach is intended to reduce gradual documentation drift caused by small changes such as renamed flags, new configuration options, and altered API responses that may not be communicated to documentation owners. Teams configure the agent by specifying code and documentation repositories, relevant change types, editable locations, style requirements, triggers, and a preferred coding-agent harness or model. Weekly runs consolidate updates into a single PR, while per-merge triggers keep documentation fresher at the cost of more frequent PRs; in either case, the agent can report that no changes are needed. Tembo supports GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket repositories, with event triggers for GitHub pull requests and GitLab merge requests, and supports tools including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Opencode, and Amp.
