Confluent Cloud offers a fully managed cloud-native Apache Kafka service for building real-time data pipelines and event-driven applications. However, building applications to harness the power of streaming has historically been complex due to novel concepts and protocols. Superblocks simplifies this process by allowing developers to build real-time applications on top of Confluent without requiring streaming expertise. In a tutorial, it is demonstrated how easy it is to create a vehicle logistics tracking application using Superblocks that connects to a Kafka cluster running on Confluent Cloud. The app consists of backend and frontend components, with the backend consuming messages from Confluent and updating the frontend state variable for each message. The frontend displays the vehicle data in a table and map component, allowing end users to track the location of each vehicle live. With Confluent Cloud and Superblocks, businesses can efficiently operationalize streaming data and surface real-time insights to business users.

Vial, a global full-service contract research organization (CRO), leverages its end-to-end technology platform and eClinical software to deliver faster and more efficient clinical trials for biotech sponsors. The company streamlines the clinical database build process, which traditionally took 15+ weeks, by using Superblocks applications that enable Clinical Operations and Data Management teams to create and manage clinical databases. This has cut down the process time to less than 5 weeks, creating a 3x enhancement in process efficiency. The Vial Admin Platform is an example of such a Superblocks application, which accelerates clinical trial setup and time to value for Vial's clients by enabling all stakeholders to easily make changes to trials with an intuitive UI that connects to Vial's APIs and Postgres database.
