September 2015 Summaries

Sentry has now released two of its Single Sign-On (SSO) components as open source software, allowing users to use SSO in the On-Premise version of Sentry for Google Apps and GitHub Orgs. To enable SSO, users must first enable it in their `sentry.conf.py`, install the required provider, and restart services to register the extension. The company aims to further improve and expand its SSO capabilities in the future, including open sourcing adapters for additional providers such as SAML, OneLogin, and Okta, as well as standard Active Directory support.

DjangoCon is taking place in Austin this week and Sentry is hosting a community drinkup. The event will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 8PM at HandleBar, where attendees can meet other developers and discuss Django error tracking. It's an opportunity for both conference attendees and local developers to come together and share ideas.

Ted Kaemming is joining the engineering team at Sentry as part of an exciting development in their infrastructure projects. Previously working on various foundational systems at Disqus, including a Python client for Apache Kafka, Ted will continue to work on improving performance and reliability at Sentry. We're excited to announce that Matt Robenolt is officially joining our engineering team at Sentry, bringing his extensive experience as an open source contributor and long-time member of the project. As a core contributor since the SaaS launch, he will be responsible for owning the Sentry infrastructure as we grow. With previous roles leading operations teams at Disqus and giving talks on webscale and JavaScript, Matt is well-equipped to handle the demands of his new role.
