Hi everyone, I'm David Morgan, excited to join Replit as a Teacher + Customer Success role, bringing 20 years of experience in teaching secondary school Computer Science in the UK. As a teacher, I'm passionate about making CompSci education accessible and frictionless for all. One of my favorite features of Replit is its collaborative multiplayer functionality, allowing seamless collaboration on code like Google Docs. It also enables students to easily ask for help with inline comments, review threads, resolve issues, and mark them as resolved. This reduces friction, workload, and makes collaboration easier. The best feature in Replit is the ability to add images to markdown files by copy-pasting, which completely removes friction from other IDEs. I'm loving Replit's Standard Type repl, which helps students practice speed-typing skills, and its fork-and-extend functionality, where students can remix projects to learn about building self-contained projects with scope.

The "My Repls" and profile pages of the platform have been combined into a unified page, offering a fresh, more social, and customizable experience for users. The new profile allows users to add links, a banner, and pin their favorite Repl, providing an easy way to share their content with others. Users can also easily publish their work to the community and connect their social media profiles. The platform plans to continue iterating on the new feature, with potential additions including user following, improved Repl sorting and filtering, and customizable pinned Repl areas.

Replit recently transitioned its editor from Monaco to CodeMirror, a move driven by a commitment to adopting innovative technologies early. This change has facilitated faster bug fixes, improved search functionality, enhanced user onboarding, and introduced the potential for customizable themes. Despite initial issues with the transition, the team has been actively addressing these problems, fixing over 80 bugs in the past six weeks and reducing workspace crashes by 90%. The company has also reinstated "Polish Fridays," a day dedicated to internal improvements and bug resolutions. Recognizing the value of user feedback, Replit is increasingly incorporating pre-launch feedback from small group settings to refine new features, as evidenced by recent updates like the new site-wide search and redesigned profile pages.
