The developer communities in Paris, London, and Seattle came together for International Redis Meetup Week, with meetups held at various locations. The Third annual RedisConf took place in downtown San Francisco, featuring over 50 speakers and 42 sessions on topics ranging from basic Redis data structures to the latest developments in Redis modules. The event included a full-day of training sessions led by Redis developers, with highlights including an appearance by Salvatore Sanfilippo, creator of Redis, and a live deployment of a Redis cluster using Kubernetes. The conference also featured keynotes from industry experts such as Joshua McKenty and Kelsey Hightower, covering topics like open source and cloud infrastructure. The event concluded with a fire-side chat about the limitations of monitoring and a closing performance by The Spazmatics. Looking ahead to RedisConf18, the team is already planning next year's conference, which will be announced towards the end of summer.

Redise has released the preview version of its new simplified Redise Cloud Private (RCP) managed Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS). RCP provides fully managed, cost-effective, and high-performance Redis databases in dedicated clusters within a user's cloud account. Users can run Redis databases on RAM or RAM+Flash using High IOPS NVMe-based SSD instances. The new capability allows automatic deployment of dedicated RCP clusters into a user's cloud account with just a few clicks. RCP is designed to reduce operational complexity, enable efficient scaling, and provide high resilience within a private cloud environment.
