Today Amazon Web Services (AWS) is announcing new options and exciting changes for its popular Redis Cloud and Memcached Cloud plans, including an increased memory size in the free tier to 25MB and the addition of new plan options called Redis Cloud Cache and Memcached Cloud Basic. The new plans offer lower prices but with reduced capabilities compared to the existing premium services. These new offerings aim to provide customers with more flexibility and cost-effectiveness for their use cases, particularly those that don't require high availability features. The changes are part of AWS's ongoing efforts to improve its commercial service offerings without attaching any strings to its free tier.

We are pleased to announce that Garantia Data has raised $9 million in Series A funds with participation from Bain Capital Ventures and Carmel Ventures, a significant investment that will support the development of Redis Cloud and Memcached Cloud. The company now has over 1,000 paying customers who rely on these services for seamless scalability and high performance. As one of the fastest growing NoSQL databases, Redis is poised to benefit from the expected growth of the NoSQL market, which is projected to reach $1.3 Billion in the next few years.
