December 2016 Summaries

We closed out the year with a busy couple of months at Postmark, releasing several new features including advanced user roles and permissions, which includes two new user roles: Account Admins and Server Admins. We also improved webhooks with real-time delivery event notifications and added bounce webhook fields such as "From" and "ServerID". A lower pricing tier was introduced, allowing users to purchase credits at $1.25 per 1,000 emails for volumes of 200,000+ credits. The focus for next year will remain on making Postmark a hidden product by focusing on areas that make the service less noticeable to end-users such as a robust API, reliable delivery, useful message insights and great support.

Advanced permissions have been added to Postmark, allowing users to create Account Admins and Server Admins, which grant varying levels of access to account information and servers. This change enables multiple people to work on different accounts and servers, addressing issues for larger companies. The new feature also includes the ability to add additional email addresses for billing notifications and a redesigned Users area with filtering and role assignment options. Two-factor authentication is in development and expected to be released early in 2018.

We are pleased to announce the release of a new webhook for delivery events in Postmark. This enhancement will allow customers to trigger additional actions on their end, such as updating user information, by feeding delivery events into internal systems. The new webhook also enables customers to provide delivery events directly to their customers through a custom UI, reducing complaints and queries about email delivery. Additionally, it allows for the aggregation of delivery events to calculate when there are delivery slowdowns and take action accordingly. The webhook will post a hook to the customer's specified URL with details such as recipient, tag, delivered timestamp, and response line from the destination email server.
