Anthropic and Plaid have launched an integration that enables developers to run diagnostics and analytics in a chat format, using Anthropic's state-of-the-art AI assistant, Claude. This integration allows developers to directly build agents with capabilities to fetch Plaid Link conversion insights, usage metrics, and item debugging directly in the Anthropic API. With this update, developers can automate internal support tasks, power in-app AI support, integrate Plaid data into their dev tools, bots, or interfaces, and bring Plaid diagnostics into any agent workflow. The integration is part of a broader effort to provide developers with the best AI tools across the tech stack, and it will be followed by a development toolkit to help developers build Plaid integrations faster in their preferred AI coding tools.

May 08, 2025 was the date when Plaid transformed its engineers into AI power users. The company had a top priority to help all engineers become AI proficient while keeping the ship moving. To scale their AI engineering program, they streamlined procurement processes, ran highly successful internal "AI Day" events, and encouraged adoption through various strategies such as creating in-house content showcasing common workflows, targeting engineering managers with training content, and complementing AI tools with existing favorite IDEs. Despite growing pains and challenges, Plaid is expanding its efforts to help engineers make the best use of AI tools, focusing on non-coding tasks like incident response, data analysis, and code review.

At Plaid, we're building a future where financial systems work better for everyone. Our team is full of thoughtful, creative people who care deeply about our mission and each other. We tackle technically complex challenges in areas such as distributed systems, core data modeling, and API design. The impact of our work is huge; one well-placed abstraction can unlock true customer value and drive millions in ARR. I'm excited to build the systems and teams that will scale with Plaid's transformation into a user-based network. My favorite part of my job is the messy early stage of getting new bets off the ground, when nothing's built yet and everyone's still dreaming. I step into whatever role's needed to turn that ambiguity into something real. I love the culture of high ownership, where if you see a problem and rally people around it, you can drive real change. One well-placed abstraction can unlock true customer value and drive millions in ARR. I'm proud of projects like designing a new API to support user-centric products, which brought together competing opinions and reduced complexity so teams could adopt the API with minimal friction. To overcome scaling myself, I've learned where to step in, where to delegate, and how to build systems that enable my team to thrive without me being in the middle of everything. For growth, I make it happen for myself intentionally and surround myself with people I can learn from. In 2024, my focus was on owning business-critical technical initiatives, and in 2025, I'm doubling down on scaled leadership and product instincts while shaping long-term strategy for my group.
