June 2022 Summaries

Mux recently held its first customer conference, TMI, which was initially planned as an in-person event but pivoted to online due to the COVID pandemic. The company worked with Magnify Communications and a local A/V vendor to produce the event at The Pearl venue in San Francisco. They used vMix for video mixing and streaming, Mux's streaming infrastructure, and Mux Player for video playback. Additionally, they provided live captions and an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted stream using their new Mux Real-Time Video and Web Inputs products. The event was a success with only minor technical issues. Key lessons learned include the importance of proper studio setup, having great partners, and conducting full rehearsals before the event.

Mux is excited to participate in the AWS Summit New York on July 12th at Booth #932, where they will be discussing their latest products and services, including Real-Time Video. They are looking forward to engaging with attendees face-to-face and learning about unique problems that people have been working on. Mux has introduced Mux Player, a modern video player deeply integrated with Mux Video and Data. The company spent years thinking about and building products for video playback. Mux Player is designed with ease of use, customization, and flexibility in mind. It aims to address common frustrations developers face when using other video players, such as poor documentation, lengthy integration efforts, complex pricing and support structures, and lack of responsive design. The player is currently in Public Alpha and will soon move into Public Beta.

Mux users can now conveniently interact with their API through the officially supported Postman collection. By forking this collection and adding it to a Postman workspace, users gain benefits such as eliminating manual API requests, keeping the collection updated with Mux's API changes, organizing requests by category, and easy shareability. The process involves forking the collection in Postman after clicking the "Run in Postman" button in Mux docs. Users can then set up their personal authentication details to make API requests.
