Humanitec`, an Internal Developer Platform, has released upgraded image management capabilities to simplify managing container images at scale. The new API and updated UI allow for easy identification, filtering, archiving, and updating of images and their versions. Image sources have been removed, and the image payload has been simplified, with the addition of image digests as a collision-resistant way to uniquely identify container images. Developers can now easily manage image versions, filter for specific builds, and archive older versions. The release also includes changes to the Organization Settings Screen and updates to the artefact API documentation. Backwards compatibility is maintained, and no breaking changes are introduced. Users need only update their CI pipeline code snippets to use the new artefact version POST endpoint.
