The Event Destinations Initiative is a community effort focused on creating a standardized approach to managing event destinations, ensuring seamless integration, improved reliability, and greater event delivery choice. It aims to provide guidelines for defining, managing, and utilizing event destinations across platforms and services, establishing a common set of standards for webhooks, message queues, APIs, and other services that handle event data. The initiative offers benefits such as simplified integration, improved efficiency, enhanced reliability, and future-proofing, while also aligning with the vision of enabling API producers to adopt efficient methods for sending and receiving asynchronous, non-blocking data. Key supporters of the initiative express enthusiasm for its potential to contribute to the evolution and blending of API and event-driven architecture (EDA) ecosystems.

The Hookdeck PagerDuty integration is now available, allowing users to integrate their issues with other services in PagerDuty incident workflows. This first bi-directional synchronization integration enables updating of both the incident status and associated Hookdeck issue simultaneously. The integration provides a notification channel for Hookdeck issues, and a dedicated guide is available to help users get started. Hookdeck will also be joining the PagerDuty Partner Spotlight on March 4th, 2025, at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET, where they will showcase their new integration on LinkedIn.
