GitKraken announces GitKraken Insights, a software engineering intelligence platform intended to help leaders assess whether AI tools improve developer productivity amid widespread adoption and limited evidence of return on investment. The platform combines DORA metrics, code quality and technical-debt analysis, AI-impact measurement, and developer-experience indicators with Voice of the Developer feedback to provide context for workflow changes. Developed in partnership with GitClear, Insights emphasizes team- and workflow-level measurement rather than individual surveillance, aiming to identify systemic bottlenecks while maintaining developer trust. GitKraken states that its own AI features saved users 82,341 hours over six months and positions the new product as a more accessible alternative to legacy enterprise analytics platforms, with lower cost and faster setup.

GitKraken Desktop 11.5 focuses on accelerating core Git workflows in response to user feedback about slow performance in large and complex repositories. The release reportedly reduces repository opening times by up to fivefold, including a decrease from 9.9 seconds to 1.7 seconds for the Linux kernel repository, while stash refreshes and branch or tag refreshes can be up to 100 times faster in repositories with many stashes or references. These gains are enabled partly through automatic background Git maintenance and require no configuration, new commands, or workflow changes. GitKraken describes the update as a foundation for continued performance work, with the improvements available immediately to existing and new users.
