GitLens 17.1 introduces expanded AI-powered explanations for commits, branches, working changes, and stashes, with summaries displayed in rendered Markdown and support for additional providers including OpenAI, Google, Azure AI, Ollama, OpenRouter, and compatible APIs. Its redesigned Visual History expands file history into an interactive repository, folder, and file explorer featuring breadcrumbs, diff scrubbing, multi-branch views, author or branch swimlanes, and separate configurable windows. The release also improves the Home view with more accurate issue associations and manual merge-target selection, while the Commit Graph receives faster rendering and a revised commit-details layout. Significant underlying Git performance work, including a rewritten execution and parsing engine, batched operations, caching, improved searches, reduced memory use, and delayed file loading settings, is intended to make large repositories substantially more responsive and reliable.

Git Integration for Jira Cloud introduced Standard and Advanced editions on May 14, 2025, separating the existing core integration features from expanded analytics, support, and scalability capabilities. Advanced is aimed at Jira administrators, product teams, and engineering teams that need faster indexing, lower maintenance, and clearer visibility into delivery risks, offering features such as Signals activity dashboards, Team and Backlog views, risk alerts, saved views, a commit graph, priority support, customer success guidance, and higher repository limits. Standard largely retains the classic product but limits connected repositories to 200 and will no longer include Team Insights, which has been renamed Signals and moved to Advanced beginning July 1, 2025. Existing customers exceeding the repository limit receive a temporary grace period, ending July 1 for monthly subscribers and at renewal for annual subscribers, while customers can trial Advanced through Atlassian’s Admin Hub or Billing Console before choosing whether to keep the upgrade.

GitKraken Desktop 11.1 expands its AI functionality with context-aware generation of pull request titles and descriptions, including support for existing templates, and automatic stash summaries based on staged changes. Users can configure custom instructions for AI-generated commit, pull request, and stash messages without needing an API key, while those with security or model preferences can bring their own keys for Google Gemini, Azure, or a custom API endpoint. The release also adds GitHub contributor avatars to the Commit Graph and Commit Panel, with support for additional providers planned, and introduces controls to show or hide all remotes and branches in the Left Panel.
