DeepL has introduced new real-time Voice models designed to preserve speakers’ unique vocal characteristics, including tone, rhythm, pacing, intonation, emphasis, and emotional delivery, during multilingual conversations across online meetings, in-person interactions, and its Voice API. The company says the feature distinguishes individual participants rather than using one generic synthetic voice, operates without storing voice samples or creating lasting voice profiles, and is initially available in 12 languages. DeepL also launched a Windows and Mac desktop app that works alongside Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet, automatically detects meetings and provides translated subtitles, spoken translation, or both. Voice-to-voice translation through the desktop app is now generally available, while browser-based access for external meeting participants remains in beta.
