CARTO has partnered with GitHub's Student Developer Pack, providing free access to its location intelligence tools for student developers. This collaboration aims to empower the next generation of developers, analysts, and mappers by democratizing access to location intelligence. CARTO will offer resources such as CARTO Academy within the pack, introducing students to its platform's services. The New York City Mayor's Office has developed a real-time interactive dashboard powered by CARTO, which provides key city indicators from various data sources at the fingertips of City Hall officials. The dashboard allows for easy monitoring of changes to these indicators across both spatial and temporal dimensions, and includes features such as location intelligence platforms, social political human development environmental and economic indicators, and the ability to set up notifications at various indicator thresholds. This solution leverages NYC's robust performance management and data collection practices to offer a better service to its citizens, enabling officials to make timely and effective decisions, identify and act on important situations in specific parts of the city, and streamline city operations like never before.

The location intelligence industry experienced steady progress in the last twelve months, driven by business platform integration and advances in indoor mapping. The growth was made possible with the continuous support of expanding Partners network, which increased from 90 to 160, leading to the hire of more Partner managers. Our Partners' outreach and promotion helped expand international presence to over 44 countries. Recent collaborations include adding a location intelligence component to ecommerce services in Europe, introducing CARTO to a research group, and bringing our platform to Nepal's financial sector. To support partners, we plan to offer more training events, workshops, and webinars in 2017.
