Bitrise stacks provide a smooth workflow and build experience with pre-installed essential tools, but updating tool versions can lead to disruptions if not managed properly. To address this challenge, Bitrise has introduced new stack states, including the Edge stack, which allows users to test upcoming versions of Xcode and potential changes before they reach the Stable or Frozen state. The Edge stack is regularly updated with the latest stable and beta Xcode releases, as well as updates to pre-installed tools and dependency manager cache. Users are recommended to experiment with tool version changes and access the most recent pre-release of Xcode on Edge stacks before September 2023 to avoid potential workflow disruptions when Xcode 15 is introduced. By testing builds on Edge stacks now, users can initiate manual builds and migrate to new versions, minimizing disruption to their workflows.

Furthermore, a dedicated Step, "Create App Store Release," is coming soon, eliminating the need for a script step and simplifying the process of creating app store releases.
