AssemblyAI introduces a new PII Redaction Policies feature to protect sensitive customer data from being compromised during audio and video file transcriptions. This feature automatically detects and redacts Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as email addresses, credit card numbers, phone numbers, birthdays, etc., ensuring proper handling of customer data in line with regulations like the GDPR. The PII Redaction Policies can be applied to various platforms including Conference Call Platforms, Call Tracking Platforms, Telemedicine, and Hiring platforms. Additionally, users have the option to redact audio files where PII is detected and replaced with # characters in the transcription text.
