The rapid growth of AI workloads is putting pressure on power grids worldwide, with experts warning of potential consequences such as higher energy prices, brownouts, and accelerated climate change. To address this issue, Intel has announced plans to deliver the next generation of its specialized "Gaudi" family of AI accelerators, known as Intel Gaudi 3, in 2024. This new technology is designed to optimize performance, scale, and efficiency for AI workloads, and Anyscale's latest release of Ray, Ray 2.10, adds support for Intel Gaudi 3. The integration of Ray and Gaudi enables users to spin up and manage their own clusters, tap into Ray Serve on Gaudi, and configure Gaudi infrastructure for use at the Ray Train layer. As a result, Anyscale is expanding its partnership with Intel, which includes collaborative development, investment from Intel Capital, and ongoing optimizations for maximum performance and efficiency. The collaboration aims to democratize AI and drive innovation in open-source solutions.
