The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants developed System and Organization Controls (SOC) examinations that provide independent validation of internal administrative, technical, and physical controls for managing sensitive customer data rooted in five trust service principles: Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy. Completing the SOC 2 assessment indicates Alpaca has demonstrated required design, operational controls, and principles to protect information and computer systems from unauthorized access and disclosure, with the Type II report detailing operational effectiveness and historical management of those systems. As a result, Alpaca Securities LLC provides securities brokerage services, while Alpaca Crypto LLC offers cryptocurrency services, both subsidiaries of AlpacaDB, Inc., subject to specific regulatory requirements and warnings about investment risks.

Rebalancing API is a new offering that allows investment advisors to create and manage custom investment portfolios automatically, streamlining portfolio management and operations. It enables users to specify cash, stock symbol, percentage weights, rebalancing conditions, and triggers, with the ability to set up specific conditions and triggers for initiating rebalancing. The platform supports US stocks and allows customers to subscribe or define their own portfolios, with features such as cooldown days and automatic investment of deposited funds towards target asset weightings.
