Logbook: October 21 to 28, 2022

What's this blog post about?

This week at Fly.io, several updates were made to improve the platform's documentation and functionality. New Postgres docs were created to guide users through performing a failover and regional failover. The "Getting Started" section was updated with instructions on setting up a Postgres database and attaching it to an application. Additionally, there are now docs available for migrating a Postgres database from Heroku. Fly's Postgres is not fully managed, so users should be aware of potential issues like running out of disk space. An example was provided on how to integrate the Elastic Stack (ELK) into a Laravel app on Fly.io for tracking user analytics and generating reports. A tutorial was also shared on shutting down an idle Phoenix app to save costs. Lastly, updates were made to improve the colorblind-friendly dashboard.
