Be Efficient, Not Productive
Blog post from Zapier
I'm not here to make a semantic argument, really. But there's a difference between being productive and being efficient, and efficiency wins every time. Productivity measures how much you do or produce within a given timeframe, whereas efficiency is about being productive with less effort. To be more productive in the long run without burning out, one must focus on becoming more efficient. By identifying tasks that can be streamlined or automated, individuals can reduce their workload and increase productivity. Efficiency also involves considering the general way of working, such as finding ways to work complementarily with one's internal clock, getting into a flow state for deep work, taking better breaks, and even procrastinating in a strategic manner. By adopting an efficient approach, individuals can accomplish more with less effort, ultimately leading to increased productivity and output.
