YugabyteDB Open Source Community Update – November 2020

The YugabyteDB open source community has been actively engaged in various activities, including releasing version 2.5, with over half a million distributed SQL clusters deployed worldwide, indicating the growing adoption of the database among developers. The community has also grown significantly, with over 2000 members on the Slack channel and more than 130 contributors to the open source project on GitHub. Additionally, YugabyteDB has introduced various training programs, including certifications and badges, which have been successfully completed by over 200 developers. The community has also organized virtual events, such as the Distributed SQL Summit Asia, and rewards for users who spot easter eggs in the database's admin UI.
