Alerts and Notifications in Yugabyte Platform

Yugabyte Platform offers a dedicated observability and monitoring view, providing a single pane of glass for performance metrics across all clouds. It comes with default alerts, health checks, and a metrics dashboard to protect against failure. The platform also allows customers to create alerting rules that can be tuned to their specific use cases and requirements. With the release of YugabyteDB 2.8, automated assistants have been introduced to transform anomalies into notifications, helping customers organize and curate events into categories. Alert policies notify users when performance metrics rise above or fall below set thresholds, allowing them to receive real-time notifications about database alerts. The platform also supports predefined alerting templates, highly configurable alert rules, and customizable notification channels. Additionally, federation allows Prometheus servers to scrape selected time series from another Prometheus server, enabling scalable monitoring setups. Future releases will include features such as maintenance windows, flexible permissions, and additional support for third-party channels.
