vFunction Integration Demo with AWS Migration Hub Refactor Spaces

At AWS re:Invent 2021, vFunction announced an integration with AWS Migration Hub Refactor Spaces to facilitate the modernization and migration of Java monolithic applications to AWS. This collaboration aims to address the challenges of efficiently decomposing monolithic applications into microservices and safely handling their migration and deployment onto AWS environments. vFunction's platform automates the analysis and re-architecting of legacy Java applications into microservices, while AWS Migration Hub Refactor Spaces manages the infrastructure for testing, staging, deploying, and managing these applications. The new integration simplifies the setup of refactoring environments, reduces the complexity of iteratively extracting microservices, and enhances the management of applications with flexible routing controls. A practical demonstration of this process is shown through the migration of an Order Management System (OMS) monolith to AWS microservices, highlighting the automated extraction and deployment of services using AWS EKS, AWS ECR, and Nginx.
